Three years later a website was set up and the Greeter idea spread around the world. In 2019 it was decided by the members of the network to create a legal entity renamed International Greeter Association. An updated logo and website followed.As of 2023, the IGA has engaged 3,203 greeters and 16,680 greets across 151 destinations in 43 countries/regions.
Shanghai Greeter was founded in March 2024 by Anna and Marine to disseminate information about Chinese culture and the history of Shanghai to overseas visitors to the city.

Route & Attractions Selection: Tourists choose their preferred route and any special attractions they'd like to visit. Anna, the IGA Shanghai coordinator, assigns volunteers within three working days.
Volunteer Confirmation: Assigned volunteers confirm the visitor's instant messaging details and prepare for the trip.
Tour Execution: The tour is conducted as scheduled.
